Foods that Build Muscle

When it comes to building a lean muscular physique, focusing only on gym time will not serve you.  While workouts are essential, what you put into your body to fuel these intense training sessions is equally important. In fact, some experts suggest that as much as seventy percent of the results you see will be based upon the kind of nutrition you are providing for your body.  As such, it pays to find out which foods really can spur muscle development.According to nutritional experts, eggs are one of the best foods for muscle bulk.  They are full of protein and are easy to prepare.  Add these to your diet as a means of fueling your muscle growth exponentially.Fish likewise is another great source of lean protein.  It also contains the essential fatty acids needed for optimal health and development of lean muscle mass.  Lean meats like chicken, turkey and even lean beef are also great.  These provide essential vitamins and minerals like vitamin b 12 and zinc needed for muscles.  Red meat in moderation is a great addition to the diet especially for those individuals who are training hard.Blueberries are also important as they provide a lot of antioxidants and can be easily added to cereals, oatmeal, smoothies and yogurt.  Even just with a bowl of skim milk or a simple smoothie, you can get a tasty treat all the while knowing you are providing your body with important fuel.Green veggies are often overlooked by those training and bulking up, but green veggies should not be given such short shrift in the bodybuilding world.  Green vegetables not only bring a host of health benefits but they are also especially vital for those who may be eating a diet heavy in protein.  They are also high in fiber which is often needed when following a high protein, low carb diet.  And of course, greens tend to be low in calorie content but high in nutritional impact. Finally, a good protein powder can make all the difference when it comes to building lean muscle mass.  While a good diet is certainly key, it can be hard to actually get everything you need to really optimize muscle development.  Adding a protein shake or protein supplement to your daily regime will greatly improve your workouts and results.  A protein supplement can help you dramatically improve your overall physique and it doesn’t require much effort in terms of preparation or planning.
