Managing Global Health Risks Using Partner Countries
While social media can facilitate the detection of public health threats, it can also drown out what is truly important.
And at a time when the world faces other challenges such as from foodborne diseases, it is more important to have a multi-pronged approach involving partner countries, said the World Health Organization’s director-general Dr Margaret Chan.
Dr Chan made these points in her opening address at a WHO conference jointly organised by Singapore’s Ministry of Health and the Economic Development Board on Thursday morning, at the Grand Hyatt hotel.
