Three years have passed since Barack Obama was sworn in as the President, and the poster called Obama Hope painted by Shephard Fairey (which off late was used against Gaddafis regime aptly titled hopeless) came into the news due to a copyright violation.

If thats not enough, the acclaimed artist was also arrested for his works of graffiti in Boston when entering an exhibition of his paintings at the Institute of Contemporary Art.

If you think Im suggesting that there has been foul play in the election of the first black President in the history of the United States, youve got another thing coming but what I AM saying is that his term as President has been riddled with controversy right from the get-go. And yet he is one of the few Presidents who hasnt been involved in any major scandals yet

But I digress.

Strangely enough, electing a Black president has been a blessing in disguise (from a global point-of-view) because people dislike that smug, know-it-all and condescending behavior that is often displayed at international airports and while visiting other countries filled with brown and black people. And you wonder where these people got their manners from?

Obama is a symbol of a new America, and will win you the necessary brownie points (for lack of a better word) that will get your economy moving, whether you would like to depend on us or not.

Ironically, the very reason why this is so is because he is colored, educated and well-read like most people in Asia. Yes, thats where the real brains come from. And in being smart enough to know that it is the only way forward a global economy, if you will!

Despite the fact that Obama might face a serious disadvantage in being the first black President, theres one thing that hell never have to worry about: sunburn.

Now before someone cries foul, this is a condition that only whites will have the privilege of dealing with since the unhealthy obsession of getting that bronzed look has possessed some folks. It normally results in a reddening of the skin (and a burning sensation that you wont understand unless you experience it) due to an overexposure to UV radiation.

Blame it on epidermal deficiency or natures way of calling it even (a sense of humor, please), the only difference between a sun tan (da da da tanning booth) and sunburn is the emotion of embarrassment.

All this enthusiasm for the beach reminds me of seafood um, lobster!

But enough of the ribbing, its a serious condition that needs to be treated immediately, and so here are some sunburn treatment methods that work best if you find yourself dealing with this.

While some preventative measures (if you arent experiencing sunburn) are to use a stronger sun tan lotion or to just avoid the sun (thanks to the current heat wave thats just hit the country), here are some tips that can help you deal with sunburn:

#1: Aloe Vera, it is. Its the best remedy around. Period.

After you use #1, follow up the treatment with these steps if you continue to experience discomfort and pain:

a. Drink plenty of water to deal with dehydration, which is one of the effects of sunburn.

b. Use pain relieving sprays which contain lidocaine.

c. Cool bath, please!

d. Moisturizers and cold creams (and chilled) are helpful to helping the skin recover well from the burns.
